If you don’t know a backsaw from a hacksaw, you’ll need to start with the basics. Familiarize yourself with frequently used tools at Intro to Woodworking ($240-$340), offered at 3rd Ward. After four to five sessions, you’ll graduate to using heavy-duty shop machines to build a small table. From there, you can tackle advanced courses such as Loft Building ($120-$150) and Furniture Design ($500-$650).
